New life in Jesus Christ produces these beginning changes…

1 A desire to know the Bible. “Like newborn babies, crave pure spiritual milk, so that by it you may grow up in your salvation” 1 Peter 2:2

2 A desire to obey Jesus Christ. “If you love me, you will obey what I command.” John 14:15

3 Distress over sin. We can no longer enjoy sinning. “…The Lord knows those who are his, and: Everyone who confesses the name of the Lord must turn away from wickedness.” 2 Timothy 2:19

4 Concern for the lost — those who have not yet repented and do not know God personally. “He is patient with you, not wanting anyone to perish, but everyone to come to repentance.” 2 Peter 3:9
